Litigation

The Firm's litigation department is Chaired by John L. Avery, Jr., Esq., and involves representation in conflicts and disputes ranging from simple negligence, probate and trusts, personal injury, bankruptcy, disputes between partners, disputes involving marital rights, and business contract disputes, to complex litigation and appeals.  Attorneys of the Firm have respresented individuals in a wide range of litigation, including fraud, corporate deadlocks and buyouts, real estate development, securities laws, tracing, tax laws, and matters of advanced estate and business planning. One of our attorneys experience extends to representing the United States in litigation emanating from her representation of NASA in damage claims involving the Challenger tragedy while she was with the United States Justice Department.

Our litigation department is supported by experienced legal assistants and a department of certified public accountants, which is often called upon to provide forensic accounting support. Maintaining and managing discovery with our own staff of accountants serves to better provide cohesive representation and to reduce costs to our clients. With the growing complexity of the business environment and the growing number of business related investigations, Forensic Accounting professionals are increasingly asked to assist in the investigation of financial and business related issues. We are pleased that we are able to extend these services in a cost effective way to our clients.
